KIC Wave Surfer
Self-contained wave solder machine profiling fixture for tracking setup accuracy and performance over time.
Product Overview
The KIC Wave Surfer is a self-contained wave solder machine profiling fixture that provides critical data on machine setup and performance. Used with a KIC thermal profiler and KIC’s award-winning software, it ensures your wave solder machine is set up correctly and performing to specification.
Built from Durastone palette material with a stainless steel cover, the Wave Surfer is designed to withstand thousands of passes through the wave soldering machine. It includes five embedded fixture thermocouples plus five PCB thermocouples, and ships with two sample PCBs (light and heavy) for testing different thermal mass scenarios.
The software generates comprehensive reports including preheat data, Process Window Index (PWI), peak temperatures, ramp rates, conveyor speed, dwell time, and machine parallelism—all measured against user-defined limits for fast, objective process evaluation.
